James Goddin

Founder

James has a long-standing passion for both innovation and sustainability.

Over the past 15+ years, he has built and led multiple, large scale, international collaborations in the advanced materials domain spanning additive manufacturing, coatings, composites, rapid alloy synthesis, nano-materials and integrated computational materials science (ICME). His projects have spanned the aerospace, space, automotive, medical devices, consumer products and construction sectors.

James led the development of Circular Economy Metrics in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and its CE100 network. He is also recognised internationally for his work on critical materials and sustainable design tools.

He is a PhD qualified materials engineer, a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, for which he is also a Strategic Advisor. He is a registered Prince2 Practitioner.

Jacquetta Lee

Associate

Jaqi has a holistic approach to sustainability systems analysis, incorporating environmental and social aspects from both academic and industrial perspectives.

She has 25+ years of experience across a diverse range of industrial sectors including aerospace, electronics, construction, agriculture, the fast-moving consumer goods market, automotive, nano-technology, architecture, and nuclear energy.

She has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering and Materials, and a PhD in Environmental Systems Analysis. Before joining the Centre for Environmental Strategy at the University of Surrey in 2003, she worked for Rolls-Royce in their Environmental Strategy Department, specialising in Life Cycle Assessment and Design for Environment.

As Director of the Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability Programme for five years, she was responsible for engaging with major industry leaders to work collaboratively on research briefs designed to resolve current sustainability issues. She also held the post of Executive Secretary for the International Society for Industrial Ecology from 2016- 2018.

Associate

David has a passion for combining sound scientific and engineering principles with life cycle thinking to make significant contributions to the development of next-generation products that minimise the impact on the environment.

As a chemical engineer, he has 30+ years of experience of working on the development of new products and methods based on novel technologies and their integration into existing manufacturing. Examples include microwave chemistry, electrochemical processes, distillation, biocatalysts, and thermal processing. He has a long-standing focus on Environmental Sustainability and the Circular Economy.

David was previously the Deputy Director of the Environmental Sustainability Knowledge Transfer Network, which included leading the work on the development of a Resource Dashboard as part of the Resource Security Action Plan published by BIS and Defra.
